I started with the Air75, then upgraded to an Air96 for its numeric keys and home office work. However after decades of using full 100% keyboards, I never adapted to the lack of spacing around the curser keys on the Air keyboards. Everything else about them was great. When I saw the Node 100 low-profile, I immediately thought it might make the perfect compact home office keyboard. I was right!

The slight spacing around the left and right edges of the curser keys made positioning my hand far more intuitive and accurate. I also appreciated the more conventional vertical layout of the home/end/pgup/pgdn keys. The latest Gateron Brown keys have a wonderful, tactile feel and the keyboard makes lovely muted thocks. Overall an absolutely fantastic typing experience and I love the compact layout without giving up any keys, including the double width zero on the numeric keypad. The only thing lacking was the sublime look of the Air keyboards with their colour highlights on some keys. However I transplanted the coloured spacebar and Enter keys from my Air75, plus a few dark grey keys and now it looks just as good as it feels. I have no wireless connection issues, nor any troubles with missed or duplicate keystrokes; the Gateron Brown Nano keyswitches are superb. The Node100 LP definitely deserves a 5-star rating and comes at a great price too, just icing on the cake!

It looks a bit like the Kick75, it's quite light and has an appropriate design. Its size and weight allow you to carry it in your backpack without problems. I chose the red switches and it was a good decision. I'm only complaining about the silkscreen printing of the keycaps, which seem to be in bold, but the rest is nothing bad to say.
